Another great season for Almonte Soccer Club (but we need your help!)

Almonte Soccer Club has wrapped up another successful season (our 47th) and has started planning for 2015 already. With close to 700 players ranging in age from under 4 to ‘age is just a number’, there was soccer to play or watch in and around town every night of the week. Our volunteer coaches and managers kept 35 youth and adult teams running – literally – in addition to 140 players in our very popular Soccer School program for 4-6 year olds.

Our teams play in three different area soccer leagues – and keeping everybody organized is no small task! Perhaps you, your children or your grandchildren play with the club, or at one time wore our distinctive green and white stripes. If so, you understand the importance of keeping our community moving and playing together.

Our Executive Board is looking for volunteer help in a few areas, one of which is Assistant Registrar.   You’ll need to have:

  • Computer skills (email, Excel) and an eye for detail, ability to deal with email etc. in a timely manner.
  • Ability to deal with ASC members, Executive Board and various soccer leagues/associations.
  • Attendance at our monthly meetings is generally NOT required but there may be a need occasionally.
  • A few hours a week during the registration season (January through May) dealing with registrations and inquiries mostly by email and occasional attention throughout the season (May through September).

If you have some time to offer we’d love to hear from you. If you’re interested in helping in this, or in a different role, please don’t wait – we need your help and will be happy to hear from you. (And by the way, our most mature player is 70 years young, and still going strong!)
