RECREATIONAL PLAY
  • Soccer School is run by ASC for children born in 2013, 2014 and 2015.  The season will run from late May to the end of July.  All games will be from 6-7 pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Civitan Club in Almonte.
  • In 2019 Almonte Soccer Club will enter youth teams in the GLSL only.  As is always the case, team entry depends on registration across the league, so a particular age group cannot be guaranteed within our club.

SOCCER SCHOOL (U4 TO U6)

Soccer School is an in-house program and represents the clubs entry age group for players. Soccer School aims to provide an environment for players and parents to have a whole lot of fun while the players learn running, balance and movement. Occasionally, small-sided games of soccer are played with an emphasis on participation and fun.

Emphasis is placed on fun first, movement and coordination second, and soccer last. This is an important step in a player’s development, whatever sport he/she wishes to pursue in later years, and it is essential that at least one parent be present at Soccer School to participate with the player and help with the program (please remember that the club is not providing a daycare service).

Age groups are as follows:

U4 2015
U5 2014
U6 2013
LEAVE NO PLAYER BEHIND (FEE ASSISTANCE) PROGRAM

Changes to the Leave No Player Behind Program (LNPB) for 2019

Background:

This program was initiated a few years ago to ensure that all players have an opportunity to participate with the Almonte Soccer Club. There were no restrictions. The intent was, applications for the LNPB assistance would be funded by contributions from Club members and any other funding available.

At the outset, individuals requested assistance and the support from Club members was great. No request was declined. Over the past two years, the number of requests (and approvals) has grown and contributions are declining.

We have reached a point where the Club is unable to support the increasing demand for this program. Therefore, the Club is initiating, for 2019, the following LNPB guidelines:

Changes:

1/ Requests for assistance will be logged based on the “date received”.

2/ There will be a limit on the number of Club funded requests approved (15).

3/ Priority and approval will be given to applications from the Soccer School and Youth age groups (up to U13), up to the limit above (15).

4/ Applications by Youth age groups (U14 – U18) may be approved, based on available requests remaining (as of April 30) and on the first submitted, first accepted policy.

5/ Applications from the Adult age group may be approved, based on available requests remaining (as of April 30) and on the first submitted, first accepted policy, after any U14-U18 requests have been approved.

Requests not covered by the LNPB Program will be encouraged to seek other sources for assistance, (e.g. Service Clubs, Jumpstart or private sources).

Any additional LNPB sponsorship will allow the club to approve applications, up to the limits set above.

If you would like to make a donation to the program or need assistance with registration fees, please login to our registration system or contact the treasurer directly.
