Welcome players, parent’s and volunteers!

The Almonte Soccer Club is about to begin our 2016 season and registration is about to open. As the new President I would like to introduce myself. My name is Alison Wark and I have been with the Almonte Soccer Club for about 10 years. During that time I have been a player, a coach, a board member, and now the President. I look forward to serving the players, coaches and parents of our club.

The first thing I would like to do is thank all of our volunteers – whether you are a coach or a board member your time is valuable and appreciated.   I would also like to thank all the parents supporting their players each season (even when it’s raining). As you know, volunteers are the backbone of our organization. This year our board is quite new and we are working hard to ensure our upcoming season gets going without too many bumps in the road.

As a club we have several events coming up that will help our season get off to a great start. We will be starting with registration for try-outs and then move to the actual try-outs. This is an open try-out, this means that we do not have set team ages at this time and we will set those after try-outs. Our ages for the teams start at U9 and goes to U18. We, the board, would like to have more competitive teams in the program so we encourage you and your child to consider whether this is something they would like to do.

Our next event is our registration site will be open as of January 26 2016 for competitive programs (this includes U09 – U18 boys and girls) and all recreational programs will have registration open shortly. We have secured a new registration system that the board feels is a more user-friendly system.   On our website www.almontesoccer.com we have an instructional document that will help you through the process. Please read through this document before starting the process. The registration link is also on our website for you to go to when you are ready.

Once we have registration and try-outs up and going we will need to secure our coaches for the recreational program. When you register please consider checking the “yes” box to volunteer as a coach. If you choose to volunteer we will be having a coaches meeting on May 7 2016 at the Almonte Civitan Hall from 9am – 11am.

The final event I would like to touch on is that Almonte Soccer Club will be celebrating it’s 50th year in 2017. The board wants to celebrate this milestone and to do this means that we need a committee to drive this forward. Please contact me at president@almontesoccer.com if you could give some time towards this amazing year.

Good Luck in 2016!
